The Process
The process of having your dream dress created from scratch….
The Consultation
Book an appointment at least 4 months prior to your big day. At the consultation we discuss your preferences, colour scheme and the theme of your wedding. I also look at your measurements to see what style will suit you best. You can also try on a number of dresses to see how different designs would emphasize your best features. By the end of your consultation, both of us will have a clear image of what your dream dress will look like.
The Storyboard and Quote
Each client gets a storyboard which consists of a sketch of your dress with the colour scheme, mood and theme of your wedding, along with a quote. The quote depends on the type of material, design and detail of the dress. When the quote is accepted, a deposit of 50% is payable. Four fitting dates will then be scheduled.
1st Fitting
Your first fitting will be to ensure that the pattern for your design is perfect. You will fit only a lining and all the alterations will be made. You can also decide on a base fabric for your dream dress.
2nd Fitting
Your design is now made of your chosen fabric. We look at detail such as lace, tulle and beads.
3rd Fitting
Your dress will finally start looking like the gown I promised you. Most of the detail will be done. At this stage you must remember your shoes, so we can measure your hem.
Final Fitting
The purpose of your last fitting is to check everything and discuss some of the ethics of your big day. After this process my work is done and you’ll look and feel fantastic in your dream dress.
The Costs…
There are a few options to choose from.
- Custom make your perfect dress to flatter and complement your best features. You can either hire or buy your dress. Prices to hire range from R 6 000 – R 12 000 and to buy starts from R 7 500.
- Rent a dress out of the existing collection – Prices range from R 3500 – R 7000.
